next week there will be the voting about software patents in the
European-parlament. You can help to make PR against it.
We need 3 DVB-S Eutelsat recordings today.
Especialy someone with experiances with "streamdump" could help,
he could dump all languages at the same time. This is working
- how?
I need your support. Next week will be a voting about software patens in the
European Parlament. For informing and influencing this voting there was a
conference about software patents in Brussels last wednesday. I tried to
record this conference. But more professional was a broadcast of the Press
conference by Europe by Satellite, the news agencie of the EU via DVB on
Eutelsat.
I tried to motivate people to record this high quality DVB-S stream, but no
one did it ;(
But there is a second chance to to it, Sunday 21.09.2003 at 12:00h-12:32h
This broadcast is free of charge, so the FSF and other organisation are free
to store this on their servers. There is already a streaming server with the
english verson of the press confernce:

This is a MPEG4 stream, is Mplayer working with it?
How?
WHO CAN HELP WITH THE RECORDING?
Would be great to have the other languages German, French and Orignal one
as well.
AGAIN, THIS MATERIAL OF EUROPE BY SATELLITE IS FRREE OF CHARGE,
this mean we can used it as we like and store it in high and lo video and
audio bitrate on servers in the interent to make PR for the right voting
about software patents next week!

Inbetween WE YOU THEM EVERYBODY should try to find sombody with a DVB-S card
and a LNB to Eutelsat to record this on Sunday for shure with all 4 lagnuages
and with engough redudance!
Also one ore more Servers are needed to store this recordigs.
Someone who will start convert this to smaler bitrate dirctly on Sunday 12:45
is also needed.

The Greens are going to prepare a reader for Monday and they would like to
have video on their webpages of the conference, especial with speach of
Daniel Cohn-Bendit. Till Palme, the Assistant of him has contacted me.
Does somebody has a good contact to the greens in BXL, (also webmaster) to
clear this over the weekend - how the file for them should look like?
IDEAS FOR CUTTING:
for aktiv people would be interesting to see the whole recording, but for
political influencing some short clips would be better.
Do you have ideas what to stress with this material?
Would we be able to produce spots with speakers?
Important for me was that it`s it was impressive how mid-size companies are in
danger of this pantens and how active they are (more than just FSF) and
the Paradoxon of the interest for free markets of small companies and the
interest of close the market of big one -- like the WTO-conference ;)

I still unsccessfully by searching somebody to record it digitaly ;(
But a converting of these recordings in 4 languages and diffent formats/sizes
are needed.
This should be cleard who when will converted this and publish it tomorows
afternoon!
